Shimofusa Museum of History and Folklore

The Shimofusa History Museum was built in commemoration of the town organization enforcement 40th anniversary of the former Shimousa town in Shimousa Sports Park in 1995 (Heisei 7).
In the hall, about 400 points are displayed mainly on an archaeology material excavated in Shimousa district or a folk material.

At this museum, history is learned from the ancient tomb through the excavated grave goods or reconstruction house of the ancient jewelry, and, from old farming implements or fishing implements, toy, the state of the life of people can be known. How about everybody mentioning history of the native district?

Giant flying squirrel type clay image

A giant flying squirrel gliding with a clay image representing Minamihadori Shofukuji ancient tomb is expressed wonderfully.
In the animal clay image that there is a number in the whole country, the thing which expressed a giant flying squirrel is only this one point.
