Etymology this and that of the hydrangea

It is said that "あづさい" (集真藍) meaning "the thing which attracted indigo blue" was corrupted into the etymology of the hydrangea.

"あづ" means a state to gather and means that particularly small things gather. Because "I meet, and about で of" (indigo plant), blue florets gather with the "sa" of the about conjunction of "さあい", and "さい" blooms, it is said that this name was touched.

"Succession of seven kinds of dancing" or "a seven colors flower" are called, and the person is various hydrangeas, but there is the interesting name depending on an area. In Niigata and Saga, it seems to be used a name such as "a turkey" by a color of the skin of the turkey changing with red, blue, purple.
