It is the text from here.
The open basis of the Sogo Reido Sanctuary is old, and it is said that it was erected for the war dead memorial service when commander-in-chief of an expeditionary force against the barbarians, Tamuramaro Sakanoueno subjugated Boso in the times of the Emperor Kanmu.
As the temple where citizen of justice of the Edo era, Sogo Sakura (real name, Kiuchi Sogorou) is enshrined now, believers of the whole country come for worship. A hydrangea is wonderful in cherry blossoms, the rainy season in spring.
In the precincts spreading out in the back of the Daihondo Hall of the Sogo Reido Sanctuary, there is the hydrangea garden which various hydrangeas such as Hydrangea macrophylla, the Hakuyou hydrangea were planted including a convention hydrangea and can enjoy the figure of the hydrangea which is beautiful at flowering time in June.
